Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
My name is Charles Crocker and I am representing the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
First of all, I would like to thank the organisers for inviting us to this regional inward investment event. I would like to take this opportunity to underline our continued commitment in sustaining investment projects both in the UK and in Romania. Offering companies competitive advantages is paramount for local authorities, given our current global environment.
As a member association and as a strategic partner for the Department for International Trade, the BRCC is at the front line of guiding UK companies in their decision regarding market expansion and sourcing. To this end, we are offering market research services and responding to an ever-growing number of requests concerning the economic advantages Romania has to offer, in comparison with other countries and regions.
We are all part of a big European family, that is deeply integrated but also fiercely competitive in attracting businesses and talent. Romania is no exception in this struggle and its capacity to attract innovative companies and talent will prove crucial towards future economic development and prosperity.
For this purpose, we are here today and we are looking forward in hearing about the differentiators that will make Ialomita county stand out as a business destination in the wider region, in Romania and in our European neighbourhood. As one of the first contact points for UK businesses we are always eager to have the most up to date information regarding advantages and opportunities for investment in all of Romania’s regions.
Our wide network that includes the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, the Department for International Trade, British Chambers of Commerce back in the UK and the Enterprise Europe Network, allow us to rapidly distribute information about new business parks, local fiscal advantages and business opportunities.
Considering this, we are here today to encourage communication between local businesses and government authorities and our members and also the wider British business environment in Romania, and in the UK.
